First Day at Church

Today was Brant's first day at church. He's twelve days old. He did a great job. Church is at 1pm and that is when he eats, so I took a bottle and hoped for the best and he did great. Davis and Blair were excited to show their friends their new baby. Brant and I only stayed for Sacrament meeting. I didn't think Brant needed to be around all of my primary kids.

Today was Brant's first bath at home. He loved the bath, but not getting out of the bath. Blair loved being my helper, and Davis didn't want anything to do with giving Brant a bath.

When we had Davis and Blair they had a bath the day after we came home from the hospital. With Brant, I'm not so worried about those things. Grandma's laughing at me finally made me think it was time. Brant's hair was looking pretty bad.

It has been so much fun having Brant in our family. It feels a little crazy to have three kids- I'm sure I got five years older in my mind when I brought him home. Blair absolutely loves Brant and can't get enough of being my helper. She is so fun to watch. Davis wants to check him out for a little bit each day, but he is still doing his own thing most of the time.

I'm snuggling Brant and loving him every chance I get and enjoying just having one baby. It feels strange to have a newborn again and Davis and Blair seem so big to me now.

Burping

Yesterday while I was burping Brant, Davis and I had the following conversation:

Davis: "Mom, stop slapping Brant!"
Me: "I'm not slapping him Davis, I'm burping him. Babies need to burp after they eat."
Davis: "Well, I remember when I was a baby and you slapped me it made me sad and it hurt really bad."

Headed Home

We came home from the hospital today. I'm a little nervous about taking care of three kids, but lucky for me Grandma Davis will be with us for a week. She is awesome to have around. She cooks, cleans, plays with the kids, takes care of me and the baby and does everything else that needs to be done. It's a good thing she'll be with us because Spence is pretty busy these days.

When we got home, Grandma Erickson, Miranda, and Kayla came to visit. It was pretty stormy when we were in the hospital, so they weren't able to come see Brant while we were in the hospital. I'm not sure what I was doing, but we didn't take any pictures. Hopefully Brant doesn't have to deal with what Spence calls the "third child syndrome". Spence is sure this baby won't get his picture taken near as much as Davis and Blair- we'll try to make sure that doesn't happen.

He's Here!

Brant Stephen Erickson was born on February 28th at 12:55pm. I had a scheduled C-Section and Spence and I went to the hospital at 11am. We got ready and the doctor got to the hospital at 12:30pm and things went really quickly. The C-Section went well except for the fact that I threw up three times during and right after surgery.

We are so happy to have Brant in our family- we think he's perfect. Davis and Blair have visited him a couple of times and they're pretty big fans too. We're headed home from the hospital tomorrow morning and Brant will get lots of love from his older brother and sister.
