Lake Mead

When we went to Lake Mead in October we had the best time we've had in a long time. We always love the trip, but this time it was so fun because the kids were old enough to have an awesome time. They thought life couldn't get any better.
We camped on the beach and the first thing the kids said when they woke up was "Sand Toys!" They were pretty pumped about the fact that they just had to throw on some clothes and they could play on the beach in a second. The only downer for Blair was the fact that it was still a little chilly in the mornings and I wouldn't put her swimming suit on and let her get in the water. She loved the water and would carry a million buckets of water to the beach every day.
Both kids had a great time riding on the tube and Blair loved swimming when we took a break from riding to let the kids cool off. Davis wasn't so thrilled about swimming at first, but once his dad tortured him and made him get in, he had fun.
The kids loved driving the boat with Grandpa and the frequent trips for ice cream. Feeding the fish at the marina was a big highlight too. Most of all both Davis and Blair loved the constant attention from Grandma, Grandpa and their favorite Uncle Morgan. At the end of each day we would go for a late night drive and shower the kids. They were always covered in sand from head to toe so a late shower was the perfect way to get them clean and ready for bed.
Spence and I had a great time on the wake board and air chair and visiting with Mom, Dad, and Morgan. Spence and Morg both landed a flip or two on the wake board, but no one mastered the air chair flip despite their best efforts.
The trip was so great. We loved dinner over the fire, sleeping in the tent in perfect weather, flat water at all times, and fun with our family. Thanks Mom and Dad!
